Reglazing is a time saving and cost effective way of updating your bath.

REGLAZE IT!
Don't Replace It.

Don't Replace it - Reglaze it!
Bathtub reglazing is a process that will give new life to your worn out existing bath tub.  Porcelain or fiberglass tubs, whether they are just loosing their shine and getting hard to clean, if the bottom is worn through like the one here, or if you would just like to update your color, reglazing may be the solution for your bathroom project.

PROCESS: (1) Caulk and overflow draincover  is removed.  (2) tub is etched with hydroflouric acid to chemically sand and deep clean the porcelain to accept the finish.  (3) After the tub is rinsed and dried, any chips are filled, surrounding areas and hardware are masked off.  After tacking off dirt and dust particles we begin by applying a coat of clear epoxy adhesive primer, when that has dried we apply a catalyzed white epoxy primer then make a final tack off for dust. (4) the final step is to apply several coats of the acrylic urethane topcoat.

The reglazing process typically takes about two to three hours to complete.  Some masking will be left in place when we are done, since we don't want to accidentally bump the tub while it's drying.  You may take the masking off the next day and also replace your caulk, however the tub should not be used until forty-eight hours have passed.  (see care & maintenance section on F.A.Q. page)

Fiberglass Tub & Shower Units:
Perhaps you would like a change of color, or maybe you have chips in the fiberglass or holes from removing a shower door or it could just be getting hard to keep clean.  Fiberglass tubs and showers refinish beautifully and clean great with the new non-porous finish.

(see our fiberglass & ceramic tile page for more information on fiberglass refinishing)
