CERAMIC TILE & FIBERGLASS TUB & SHOWER UNITS

Ceramic Tile Reglazing
Reglazing wall tile is an excellent remodeling option.  Whether you would just like a color change (as was the case of the project shown below) or if you've had to replace cracked tiles or make major plumbing repairs.

Ceramic tile tub surrounds and tile showers and ceramic wall tile can be reglazed at a fraction of the cost of tile replacement and usually within a few hours instead of weeks. Wall tile reglazing can last for years and looks beautiful.

As with all other refinishing, proper preparation is the key to success: The tile is first etched with hydrofluoric acid to chemically sand the ceramic. Missing grout is repaired.  All areas not to be refinished are masked off (hardware, trim, etc.) Spray on a special clear epoxy primer. Spray on white epoxy primer, Application of the acrylic urethane topcoat.

Fiberglass Tub / Shower Units

Perhaps you would like a change of color, or maybe you have chips in the fiberglass or holes from removing a shower door, or it could be just getting hard to keep clean.  Fiberglass tubs and showers refinish beautifully and clean great with the new non-porous finish.

The Process:  First the unit is cleaned and wet sanded, any chips in the fiberlass are repaired.  Hardware and surrounding areas are masked. We then apply a good coat of white epoxy primer, nessesary for proper adhesion of the topcoat.  After a final tack off for dust, the finish coats of acrylic urethane are applied, producing a smooth, hard finish that will last for many years.

The process takes about three hours to complete.  Some masking will be left in place when we are done, since we don't want to accidentally bump the unit while it is drying.  You may remove the masking the next day, however the tub should not be used until forty-eight hours have passed. (see Care & Maintenance section on F.A.Q.'s Page)

Fiberglass Repairs

Do you have Cracks in the bottom of your Fiberglass Tub or Shower?  We can make a permanent repair by installing a new inlay in the bottom of your tub.

The Process:  We'll come and make a custom measurment template from your tub. If the tub is cracked to the point of leaking, we'll make this portion of the repair at that time. (after waiting 24 hours for the fiberglass repair to cure you may resume normal use of your tub).  Then we'll order your custom CNC cut inlay for your tub. They ussually arrive in about 5 bussiness days.  When it arrives, it only takes about 45 minutes to install the new bottom inlay, using state of the art epoxy adhesives.  Let cure for 36 hours and the tub or shower is ready for normal use.
